The frightened little kitty

Sammi, Sammi, Sammi, the sweetest kitty ever! This beautiful girl was rescued from Grand Prairie Paws animal shelter in April 2023. When we first got her, she was in her own room, and she just did not trust anyone! She came to the shelter as a stray, so we have no clue what her life consisted of previously. See the picture below, this is how she glared at us in the beginning of her stay at The Cozy Catfe.

Once she got a bit braver and trusting we moved her into a different room with roommates and this is when we saw her confidence grow! In the year she has been her she has brought so much love and joy with her. She gives the sweetest head bumps, on your FACE and kisses! She loves to be loved on! Every once in a while, she will get overstimulated, but she will let you know by a gentle swipe of the paw. She does not mind other kitties; she has actually developed a little friendship with one of our male cats Harpo. She will gently walk over to him and put him in a headlock, then get upset if he gets too rough with her…LOL!

She has become a fan favorite at the Catfe and she has decided she will be the deputy to Poppy. She stands up high on our catwalk and watches over the cats and guests but can be coaxed down very easily with treats!! She is one of the few kitties that has mastered the carpeted wall, if you’re lucky enough to see it she gets a running start and before you know it she is at the top, wondering how to get down. We just adore her and look forward to seeing her every day, and it’s become known to our guests too that when they come visit, they will get some Sammi love and head bumps!
